The Best Worst Drinks: The Mudslide

This week, we are making Thurman's second favourite cocktail of all-time. The Mudslide.

Thurman Wise

Welcome to a special episode of The Best Worst Drinks – or should we say, The Best Best Drinks. Today, we’re tackling one of Thurman’s favourite cocktails, despite it often turning out more dessert than drink - the Mudslide.

Originally crafted in the 1970s, the Mudslide’s classic combination of vodka, coffee liqueur, and Bailey’s Irish Cream made it a popular guilty pleasure. But when bartenders overdo it with cream or ice cream, it quickly turns into an overly rich boozy milkshake, masquerading as a cocktail.

Thurman’s tips? Dial up the coffee and ditch the cream for a version that’s got depth, texture, and is far from cloying.

Tune in to see why sometimes, less really is more.

30ml Ron Colon Salvadoreno Coffee Infused Rum
30ml Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur
30ml Grada Coffee + Spirit
Fresh Ice
