There's something magical about a drink that can transport you to another place entirely, especially when that place is drenched in sunshine. While some people gravitate towards warm, spiced beverages in the colder months, I find solace in drinks that bring a taste of summer all year round.

When I'm looking for a non-alc summer drink I turn to Australian-owned and made CAPI, whose commitment to local, all-natural ingredients promises flavours that evoke some of my favourite hot-weather destinations.

Whether you’re in the depths of winter or craving a mental getaway, these non-alc cocktails are your ticket to a summer state of mind.

Destination: Palm Springs

This drink takes me to Palm Springs, a warm-weather escape just outside of LA. Picture yourself poolside, surrounded by palm trees, with a Palm Tree Chiller in hand, soaking up the sun. Its refreshing blend captures the essence of relaxation and sunny days, making it the perfect beverage for an imaginary trip to this iconic desert oasis.

40ml lime juice
1 pineapple wedge
1 pineapple leaf
In a blender, combine CAPI Charred Pineapple Soda, coconut water, lime juice, and two cups of ice. Blend until smooth and thick. Pour into rocks glasses, garnishing with a pineapple leaf and wedge.

Destination: Berlin

Surprisingly, the Shiso Smash transports me to Berlin instead of Tokyo. This twist on the classic basil smash, popular in Berlin, embodies the city’s vibrant summer scene. Imagine sitting outside a bar, enjoying the sun after a day of biking and swimming, a Shiso Smash in hand. It’s the perfect drink for those endless summer days in the heart of Europe.

Destination: Port of Spain

This cocktail whisks me away to Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. I’m leaning against my rental car, a bake and shark in one hand and a sorrel and lemon drink in the other, music playing loudly as I gaze out at the beach. The flavours of this drink capture the lively, tropical spirit of this Caribbean locale.

Now here's a drink that takes me to Casco Viejo in Panama City. Picture sitting in the lobby of The American Trade Hotel, savouring this delightful drink. The old town’s charm and the sea’s proximity create a serene yet vibrant atmosphere, perfectly mirrored by the flavours of the Light and Breezy.
