Mojito

While the Mojito requires a little elbow grease to get off the ground it pays you back tenfold in balance and freshness.

Oh the Mojito. Here’s a cocktail that makes you work for it, which us lovers of the drink are happy to do because the end result is utterly refreshing. What makes this drink an unshakable crowd favourite is its two opposing, yet complementary energies.

Lime Wedge and Mint Sprig

Bar Tools

Mixing Shaker, Jigger, Muddler, Bar Knife

Ingredients

60ml White Rum
½ Lime cut in wedges
15ml Simple Syrup
90ml Soda Water

Method

In a mixing shaker add lime wedges and simple syrup. Give a good muddle until lime wedges are saturated in juice. Add rum, mint and ice. Shake for approximately 12 seconds and pour contents including ice into a collins glass. Top up with some fresh ice. Pour 90ml of soda water into used mixing shaker to get last bits out and pour into collins glass/ garnish with a lime wedge and fresh mint sprig.
